Malaysia is Islamic, Chinese and Indian culture condensed in a single country. This nation is very advanced and modern, has good infrastructures such as an excellent road system and most of the population speaks fluent English.
All these advantages come with the cheap living costs and as a cyclist it isn't rare to pay nothing at all. Sport, sportswoman and men are very popular in Malaysia and usually welcomed and appreciated guests. In particular in West Malaysia cycle sports have developed rapidly and on weekends it can be expected to ride in the company of others and groups.
The population of Malays, Chinese and Indians live in mutual respect and harmony. Thanks to this diversity there is a big choice of (inexpensive) food that cyclists should take advantage of during their trip.
There are beautiful landscapes to see: Predominately coastal regions, but also cities like Melaka, Kuala Lumpur, Penang or Alor Star should not be missed. The biggest highlight is certainly the Cameron highlands with its tea plantations.
Those who like warm tropical weather and an easy introduction into Asian society, Malaysia is the perfect choice.
