Electric bicycle workshop
Duration: 1 day: 3h1/2 and 4h, max 6 participants, an e-bike is mandatory for this workshop.
General information: You MUST have an e-bike that is in good working condition. If your e-bike is not in at least reasonable working condition or if you do not have an electric bicycle available at all, you can book a rental e-bike from LA VUELTA DEL MUNDO for the day of the workshop.

1. Help choosing the right equipment (before you leave home*)

Select quality equipment specific to cycle touring (to ensure better value for your money and proactively avoid potential problems).

Provide a list of essential items, tools, and spare parts to take on your trip.
2. Bike and equipment how-to;

Learn to re-assemble or re-adjust, pack or unpack your bike after transport in a train, bus, or car.

Adjust and personalize the setup of your bike for maximum efficiency and comfort (to avoid discomfort in areas like bums, wrists, neck, and knees).

Gain skills to repair a puncture, change a tire, adjust brakes, and perform bike maintenance
3. First Aid

Secure the accident location effectively.

Get familiar with treating common cycling injuries.

Know essential emergency contact numbers.
4. Riding a heavily loaded electric bike; health and safety issues

Understand how to ride a loaded e-bike in urban traffic or off-road.

Master climbing and descending with a loaded bike.

Learn to ride safely in various weather extremes.

Prevent muscle strains and injuries.

Comprehend local road rules for metropolitan city riding.
5. Electronic devices & Navigation how-to

Basics of using electronic devices.

Discover useful applications (navigation, first aid, hotel booking apps, etc.).

Learn to connect electronic devices with one another.

Troubleshooting tips.

Effective use of your smartphone or map to find cycle paths or quiet roads.

Planning your trip and creating an achievable itinerary.
6. What are the potential risk and how to deal with them
Please note: Hazards can happen; abroad as much as at home. It is important to be aware of such risks and to act in a way to prevent them occuring so if something happens out of the blue its always good to know the best way to deal with a problem before it occurs.

Understanding common risks (scams, corruption, prostitution, theft, accidents, etc.).

Strategies for preventing and avoiding hazards.

Guidelines for handling tricky situations and what not to do.

Essential emergency phone numbers (hospital, embassy, etc.).

What to do and whom to call in case of theft of a wallet, credit card, or passport.
7. Ride along

Participate in a 15-40km group ride to simulate a true cycle touring day (duration dependent on fitness level and conditions).
