Thousands of sealed side roads, main roads usually with generous shoulders and very respectful motorists make cycling a pleasure every day. With the exception of 3 provinces in the south, Thailand is easy to travel as people are very helpful and even in the remotest area at least somebody speaks a little bit of English.
Modern Thailand is well organized and has very attractive prices. For lots of reasons many touring cyclists start or end their trip in Bangkok.
Thailand has a lot to offer to its visitors: An ancient culture and its heritage, excellent food, amazing landscapes and nature can be found everywhere. Traditional customs can still be intimately experienced, especially for those on a bicycle able to avoid the mass tourism. It’s also great that in Thailand theft and violent crime is like in most Asian countries almost non-existent.
